Keep what’s yours, build what’s ours.

Not married yet and just moving in together? That's a cohabitation agreement — same service, same flat fee.

- 100% online — no office, ever
What a BC prenup actually settles
Under BC's Family Law Act, marriage changes how property and support work. A marriage agreement lets the two of you write the rules — while you agree about everything.
Growth on what you bring in
What each of you owns before the wedding stays yours — but its growth during the marriage is divisible by default. In BC real estate, the growth is often the biggest number in the room. A prenup sets those rules in advance.
Your business or company
Company shares are family property, and the company's growth during the marriage is on the table — even if your spouse was never involved in it. A carve-out now is far cheaper than a valuation fight later.
Family gifts & inheritances
Parents helping with the down payment? Expecting an inheritance? Without an agreement, the growth on those can end up shared. Many parents now make an agreement a condition of the gift.
Already living together?
After two years of living together you're already "spouses" under BC law — with or without the wedding. One well-drafted agreement covers you from moving in through the marriage and beyond. No new document needed when you tie the knot.
A prenup isn't planning the ending. It's the two of you deciding the rules together, on a good day — instead of a judge deciding on a bad one.
One flat fee
No hourly billing. No retainers. No $5,000 law-firm surprise.
Marriage / Cohabitation Agreement
Every agreement, one price — business owners and blended families included. Drafted, explained and signed properly, with full advice from a BC lawyer for one of you.
Independent Legal Advice Only
Handed a prenup by your partner's lawyer? Get real advice and the certificate you need to sign.
All prices in CAD, plus taxes. A lawyer can only act for one of you — that's why each partner gets their own lawyer, whichever side of the agreement you're on.
Built to hold up
Prenups get set aside for predictable reasons. Our process is designed around every one of them.
Full financial disclosure — both of you list everything, and it’s built into the agreement
Independent legal advice for both of you, certificates on file
No wedding-eve signings, ever — you sign when you're both ready
A properly witnessed signing, supervised live on video
This isn't a fillable template. A lawyer drafts your agreement around your actual assets, and gives you real advice before you sign.

How it works
Most agreements are done in three to four weeks, entirely from your couch — including the signing. Start at least six weeks before the wedding for a comfortable runway.

Prenup questions, answered
Are prenups actually enforceable in BC?
Yes — in BC, a "prenup" is a marriage agreement under the Family Law Act, and courts respect properly made ones. The ones that get set aside share the same flaws: missing financial disclosure, no independent advice, or pressure around the signing. That's exactly why our process bakes in full financial disclosure, independent legal advice for both of you, and a properly witnessed signing. The process is the protection.
How much does a prenup cost in BC?
With us: $1,499 plus taxes, flat, for the agreement, including full advice for one partner. Your partner's independent legal advice is paid to their own lawyer — typically around $500–$700 through the affordable BC lawyers in our network, or whatever their own chosen lawyer charges. That's the whole number. Traditional firms commonly quote $3,000–$6,000 on hourly retainers for the same document. Full cost breakdown →
How long before the wedding should we start?
Six weeks or more is comfortable; three to four weeks is our typical start-to-signatures timeline. Pressure around a wedding date is the classic reason agreements get attacked later, so tell us your date on the first call and we'll work backwards from it. Wedding very close? Ask anyway: an agreement can also be signed after the wedding.
We already live together. Do we need something different?
No — same document, same statute. In BC, cohabitation agreements and marriage agreements are both made under the Family Law Act, and one well-drafted agreement carries you from living together through the wedding and beyond. If you've been living together two years or more, you already have spousal rights and obligations — which makes the agreement more useful, not less. Prenup vs cohabitation agreement, explained →
My partner's lawyer already drafted one. What do I do?
You need your own lawyer to review it and give you independent legal advice before you sign — that's what makes it bind. We do exactly that for a $499-plus-taxes flat fee: we read the whole agreement, tell you in plain language what you're giving up and keeping, flag anything worth pushing back on, and issue your certificate. By video, with a meeting within 2 business days of booking. How ILA works →
